SeasonPass enhances patrons’ TV viewing experience by bundling a single season of a TV series into one borrow. This feature expands hoopla’s digital offerings available to libraries and their patrons, allowing patrons to stream more for free. A selection of 14 TV series will be available upon launch within SeasonPass from partners like BBC Studios, Electric Entertainment, PBS, All3Media and more. Those series include The Librarians (season 1), Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators (season 1), The Forsyte Saga (season 1) and Midsomer Murders (season 1).
“Our focus is on making it easier than ever for patrons to enjoy the content they love, all through a seamless and intuitive experience,” said Cat Zappa, Vice President of Digital Acquisitions at hoopla. “This offering reflects how people engage with media today, giving patrons access that’s simple, convenient, and aligned with their expectations. By prioritizing ease of use, we’re helping libraries offer a modern, patron-centered experience.”
Participating public libraries will receive immediate access to SeasonPass through hoopla with no additional fees or subscriptions to manage, allowing libraries to offer more content to their patrons. With a library card, patrons receive free unlimited access to an entire season of TV for a week with no holds, no waiting and no subscription fees.
“SeasonPass is transforming how libraries deliver digital content, enabling them to better serve their communities and maximize their impact,” said hoopla Digital founder Jeff Jankowski. “It’s not just about simplifying access for patrons — it’s about giving libraries the tools they need to provide meaningful, efficient service in an increasingly digital world. This marks an important step forward in supporting libraries as they adapt to the future of content delivery.”
SeasonPass is now available alongside over 30 BingePass offerings from hoopla available to public libraries and their patrons — expanding hoopla’s commitment to providing unique content for free to library patrons. SeasonPass is accessible on the web, on Roku devices and via hoopla’s mobile app, with no commercials or ads. With SeasonPass, patrons can always find something new to borrow with no holds, waits or subscriptions.
