Communitech is hosting a showcase to recognize the graduates of its Startup Bootcamp. The showcase will take place at the Communitech Hub in the Tannery Building on Wednesday, January 22 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. The event recognizes the innovation, resilience and entrepreneurial spirit of program participants by highlighting the journeys of local founders and the incredible businesses they’re building.

The showcase is a celebration for graduates of the Communitech Startup Bootcamp, a six-week in-person program that guides new founders through the essentials of developing a startup. Over the six-week intensive beginning in November, founders participated in workshops led by Communitech Growth Coaches and subject matter experts, connected with peers and fellow founders, gained real-time feedback and insights to refine their pitches and explored the local startup ecosystem through the fundamentals of startup success.

“We are so excited to celebrate the hard work, dedication and learnings of our Communitech Startup Bootcamp graduates,” said Angela Bruce, Startup Program Manager at Communitech. “Over the past six weeks, our team of Growth Coaches and industry leaders have provided new founders with the tools and support they need to accelerate their business opportunities. The Startup Bootcamp showcase will bring graduates together one last time to share what they’ve learned and celebrate their success in this program.”

The showcase event will feature a pitch competition where program participants will present their pitches to the community, potential customers, partners and investors.

The winner of the showcase pitch competition will receive a $1,000 prize from the City of Kitchener, as well as a $5,000 credit towards product development services from FYELABS. Based in Hamilton and founded in 2021, FYELABS was created to help startups and small businesses with their product development needs. FYELABS has served over 130 startups to build market-ready products and solutions. FYELABS is a member of Communitech Pro Squad.
